April 9, 2011: The readings for today are 1 Samuel 1, 2, and 3 and Luke 12:1-34. Here are some lists for the reader to contemplate while reading.
1 Samuel 1:
- List the components of Hannah's prayer.
1 Samuel 2:
- List the things the Lord, the Rock, will do.
- List all the sins of Eli's sons.
- List the reasons the Lord was angry with Eli.
1 Samuel 3:
- List the times the Lord called Samuel and how Samuel answered.
- List a description of Samuel from today's reading.
Luke 12:1-34:
- List Jesus' words in verse 5.
- List Jesus' words in verses 8 and 9.
- List Jesus' words in verse 15.
- Write out verse 21.
- Write out verses 25 and 26.
- Write out verse 31.
- Write out verse 34.
