April 22, 2011: The readings for today are 2 Samuel 4, 5, and 6 and Luke 18:18-43. Here are some lists for the reader to contemplate while reading.
2 Samuel 4:
- List the two brothers who were captains of Ishbosheth's raiding parties, what they did, and what happened to them.
- List the son of Jonathan who escaped and what happened to him.
2 Samuel 5:
- List what the tribes of Israel told David the Lord said (from verse 2).
- List David's sons born in Jerusalem.
- List the times that David consulted the Lord, and what David asked.
2 Samuel 6:
- List the instruments being played while the ark was moved the first time.
- List David's behavior while the ark was moved the second time.
- List David's explanation to Michal about his behavior (from verses 21-22a).
Luke 18:18-43:
- Write out Jesus's words from verse 27.
- List what Jesus predicted would happen to him in Jerusalem.
