April 12, 2011: The readings for today are 1 Samuel 10, 11, and 12 and Luke 13:22-35. Here are some lists for the reader to contemplate while reading.

1 Samuel 10:

• List what Samuel said Saul would find when he left.

• Samuel called the Israelites together. List how Samuel demonstrated how the king was chosen.

1 Samuel 11:

• List how Saul responded to the plea of the leaders of Jabesh.

• List what happened in Gilgal after the battle of Jabesh.

1 Samuel 12:

• List all the people the Lord sent to save the Israelites.

• Draw a vertical line down the center of the page. Label the left column "All is Well" and the right column "All is NOT Well." From today's reading, list the information in the appropriate column.

Luke 13:22-35:

• List what will happen when the door to heaven is closed.

• List what Jesus told Herod he would do.
