April 21, 2011: The readings for today are 2 Samuel 1, 2, and 3 and Luke 18:1-17. Here are some lists for the reader to contemplate while reading.
2 Samuel 1:

2 Samuel 3:
2 Samuel 1:
- List the main points of the story the Amelikite told David.
- List the reasons that David killed the Amelikite.
- From the song David composed, list the information we find to describe Saul and Jonathan.
2 Samuel 2:
- We find several names in this chapter. List descriptive information about each:
- Abner
- Ishbosheth
- Joab
- Abishai
- Asahel
- sons of Zeruiah
2 Samuel 3:
- List David's sons at this point and their mothers.
- List the basic information about how Abner dies.
Luke 18:1-17:
- List the reasons Jesus told the story of the persistent widow.
- Draw a vertical line down the center of the page. Label the left column "Pharisee" and the right column "Tax Collector." Put the information from today's reading in the appropriate column.
- Write out verse 14b.
