April 11, 2011: The readings for today are 1 Samuel 7, 8, and 9 and Luke 13:1-21. Here are some lists for the reader to contemplate while reading.

1 Samuel 7:

• List what Samuel told the Israelites to do to return to the Lord.

1 Samuel 8:

• List the ways that Samuel told how a kind would treat the Israelites.

1 Samuel 9:

• List all the things Samuel did for Saul.

Luke 13:1-21:

• Write out verse 5.

• Today's reading mentions several illustrations that Jesus gave. List descriptions or the meanings of:

• the unproductive fig tree

• healing on the Sabbath

• a tiny mustard seed

• yeast
