April 14, 2011: The readings for today are 1 Samuel 15 and 16 and Luke 14:25-35. Here are some lists for the reader to contemplate while reading.
1 Samuel 15:
- List everything the Lord told Saul to destroy.
- List everything Saul did not destroy.
- From verses 22 and 23, list what w learn about:
- offerings and sacrifices vs. obedience and listening
- rebellion
- stubbornness
- rejecting the Lord
1 Samuel 16:
- List how the Lord makes decisions versus the way people make decisions.
- List what the tormenting spirit filled Saul with.
- List a description of David.
Luke 14:25-35:
- List what we must do to become a follower of Christ.
