April 10, 2011: The readings for today are 1 Samuel 4, 5, and 6 and Luke 12:35-59. Here are some lists for the reader to contemplate while reading.

1 Samuel 4:

• List the number of battles between the Israelites and the Philistines and the number of Israelites who were lost.

• List who was responsible for the Ark of the Covenant being captured and what happened to them. 

• List the events that occurred after the messenger returned from the battlefield to Shiloh.

1 Samuel 5:

• List all the places the Ark of God was put and what happened in each place.

1 Samuel 6:

• List the guilt offering made by the Philistines.

• List what the five gold rats and the five tumors represented.

Luke 12:35-59:

• Write out verse 40.

• Write out verse 48b.
