Welcome to Listing Your Way Through the Bible, our unique bible study based on making lists as we work through daily readings.

The readings for today are 2 Chronicles 34, 35, and 36 and John 19:1-22. Here are some lists for the reader to contemplate while reading.


2 Chronicles 34:

  • List those things that Josiah did that were right in the eyes of the Lord.
  • List the skills the Levites had.
  • Write out the words of verse 21b.
  • From verses 27, list all the things that Josiah did that pleased the Lord.
  • From verse 28, list what the Lord promises Josiah.
  • List the provisions of the covenant that Josiah renewed in the Temple and had the people pledge.


2 Chronicles 35:

  • List some of Josiah's preparations to celebrate the Passover.
  • List how Josiah was killed.
  • List the prophet who lived during Josiah's time and what his prophecies were called.


2 Chronicles 36:

  • List the kings who came after Josiah, whether they followed the Lord or did evil, and what happened to them.
  • List the people's reactions to God's messengers.
  • List all the things that happened to the people of Judah and Jerusalem.


John 19:1-22:

  • List the things that Pilate and the soldiers did to Jesus.
  • List the arguments the people used to convince Pilate to have Jesus crucified.
  • List what Pilate wrote on the sign fastened to Jesus's cross.
  • Look back through the reading and note what Pilate called Jesus before the crowd.
