Welcome to Listing Your Way Through the Bible, our unique bible study based on making lists as we work through daily readings.

The readings for today are 1 Kings 12 and 13 and Luke 24:36--53. Here are some lists for the reader to contemplate while reading.

1 Kings 12:
  • Draw a vertical line down the center of the page. Label the left column "David's advice" and the right column "Friend's advice." In the appropriate column, list the advice given to Rehoboam about how to handle the request of the Israelites to lighten Solomon's previous burden.
  • List who was king over Israel and who was king over Jerusalem.
  • List all the sins that Jeroboam committed in Israel.

1 Kings 13:
  • List the elements of the man of God's prophecy concerning Jeroboam's altar.
  • List what the Lord told the man of God not to do.
  • List what happened to the man of God.

Luke 24:36-53:
  • List the things Jesus asked his disciples and followers to do to prove he was not a ghost.
  • List what Jesus asked his followers to do in verse 47.
  • List what Jesus would now send and what it would do.
