February 19, 2011: The readings for today are Numbers 1 and 2 and Mark 3:1-19. Here are some lists for the reader to contemplate while reading.
Numbers 1:
- List the 12 tribes, each tribe's leader, and how many men in each tribe were 20 years old or older.
- List which tribe was not counted and why.
- Draw a large box on the page and label the four sides of the box according to the four compass points.
- Draw a box in the center of the box.
- List each tribe grouping under the appropriate compass points.
- Number the order that each grouping was to set out.
- List what Jesus did that day as described in verses 1-12.
- List the 12 who were chosen to be Jesus's disciples.
